Don’t you just love social media parents? Well in my case, the social media “baby daddy”. They do absolutely nothing for their child, but when that sporadic visit comes around,…

It’s a method used for layering on products in a specific order to retain moisture in the hair & seal it in so that your hair doesn’t dry out.
L stands for leave in conditioner- apply a moisturizing leave in conditioner.
O stands for oil- apply a thin layer of oil to seal & lock in the moisture
C stands for cream- apply a butter based creamy moisturizer too to your hair.
Now you know:-) there are examples if you search for loc method on the blog.
Ok so I'm a newly natural. I big chopped May 24 2014 and I'm 4a/b and currently I have some Senegalese twists installed and I was wondering if u could give me some tips on moisturizing, when to wash it, and frizz
Hi & congrats on your natural hair journey.
Yes I can suggestions. Start from the bottom with your scalp, make sure it’s clean and oiled so that it does not dry out , cause flakiness & dandruff. So oil massage it with an oil of your choice like coconut, avocado, etc you can also use a dandruff spray or cream called sulfur.
For moisturizing, you could buy S-curl spray, it works just fine as a moisturizer. Buy the new version as it also contains argon oil for sealing in moisture.
For washing, it will come down to your lifestyle, if u are swimming a lot, then use a clarifying shampoo or add some baking soda to your regular shampoo to wash out the salt ( ocean ) or chlorine ( pool). Wash whenever you feel that your twists are dirty, weighed down or product build up.
Make a spritz of 1 part vegetable glycerine,2 parts aloe vera juice,3 parts water & 5 drops of tea tree oil. This recipe is loaded with a lot of moisturizing goodness, glycerine with pull more moisture from the air which will help u with frizz, aloe vera will balance your hairs ph so less frizz again & the tea tree oil will soothe your scalp from itchiness & dandruff which comes with protective styles.
With braids I usual focus more on moisturizing and oil massages. You can add in more products like oils if you want & can make your own measurements as desired. And spray as needed.
Hope this answered your question, enjoy your twists & have a great hair journey:)
